Artist opportunities

DUMAWUL’s Creative Development Program provides Djaara creatives with workshop opportunities across visual arts, weaving, sculpture, dance, acting and storytelling artforms. Located at our new Creative Arts Hub, we are supporting the development of the Djaara Artist Community, through networking, information sharing, and relationship building.

DUMAWUL’s programs and facilities are designed by Djaara leaders to support Djaara creatives with access to business development and education, advice to scale and build creative businesses and income, and a variety of unique programs, opportunties and events including:

– Artist’s residencies and cultural engagement on Country
– Studio residencies at the Hub
– Professional development creative workshops
– Artist’s commission opportunities
– The Hub Gallery space, for permanent exhibitions
– Artist studios, working spaces and art storage
– The annual Malamiya Mang Festival, raising the profile of Djaara Art and Culture.

Plans include e-commerce sales via the DUMAWUL website, and increased access to art buyers, creative commissions, and more events that raise the profile of Djaara artists.
