Aunty Millie is a proud Dja Dja Wurrung and Yorta Yorta Woman who practices the art of weaving baskets, trays and vases. Aunty Millie learnt weaving in 2018 at the bunyma lotjpa program along side her three daughters.
Aunty Millie and her daughters have been on a journey of making and healing from a history of enforced disconnection with their First Nations culture.
Learning traditional weaving techniques has played a big part in bringing them to a closer understanding and practice of Djaara and Yorta Yorta culture that they proudly Share with us today. Come and journey with them through their weaving of traditional and contemporary styles and materials
