Rebecca Phillips

Rebecca Phillips is a proud Djaara and Pangerang woman of Central and North East Victoria and has Macedonian and English Australian Heritage. Known as Bec, she is passionate about walking her Culture and Country and respectfully sharing its wisdom. She believes the preservation and revival of her Culture is important to uphold the legacy of her ancestors and what we must all build on for future generations.
Bec has been an active collaborator and contributor to the strengthening of Djaara Culture through leading cultural tours/workshops and cross cultural awareness activities for the elevation of Djaara Culture in the community. Bec has been involved in reviving Dja Dja Wurrung Language through Djali Balak (Language Group), and leading cultural song, dance and ceremonies.
Bec is a Cultural Consultant for Dja Yingila (Country Singing), her small business working across many fields of Interpretive Storytelling, jewellery making, cultural workshops, engagement advice, presentations/events and performances.
All Bec’s collaborations and participation in events must uphold cultural integrity and echo that which makes Country sing.
