Bayking Murrup ‘Reawaken the Spirit’ has the artist impression with a depiction of significant landmarks, Lalgambook Mt Franklin to the south, Tarrengower near Maldon to the west and Leanganook Mt Alexander to the east as directional markers rising from the land as they birthed during the Malamiya-yu Gurang in the dreaming for Dja Dja Wurrung people as they transverse Djandak. These landmarks are shown as contours on the landscape with background coloured dots representing the colours of the landscape during the changing seasons. As Dja Dja Wurrung people travelled throughout, is shown here with footprint lines and with circular small group camps shown throughout, representing Djaara people. Marta Gulli, our Ancestors circular gatherings shown here as they shared ‘Kiki’s, stories told by generations are the larger circles.
With the awakening of the land comes the caretaker spirits depicted in pink whispy figures rising up as they move slowly skyward where Bunjil the creator Murrup resides overlooking Djandak and the people caring for her.
