Eli Kennedy is an emerging Indigenous artist with family connections through his mother to the Wiradjuri Nation, Yorta Yorta people, and Dja Dja Wurrung people of Victoria. Through his father’s family, he has connections to the Ngiyampaa Nation, Dharawal people, and Yuin people of NSW. From a young age, Eli has been immersed in culture, learning stories, traditions, and cultural knowledge from his Elders, Aunties, and Uncles. He has also developed skills in traditional artefact making under the guidance of his uncles, strengthening his connection to culture and Country.
Coming from a strong artistic family, including his mother, Indigenous artist Krishna Heffernan (Grant), Eli continues this creative legacy through his own artistic practice. His work reflects a deep respect for storytelling, ancestors, and the land itself. Through every artwork, Eli is committed to practising care for Country, ensuring that culture, connection, and tradition remain at the heart of his creative expression.
